Welcome to the Avoca Region!
The Region of Avoca is far north to the region of Unova. The land is filled with steep mountains and cliffs with bundles of forests nestled within the cluttered valleys. To the right and left of this grand terrain is the ocean, but be wary, for there are hardly any beaches on the coast and consist of vertical cliffs.
The land itself is loaded with Kanto, Johto, and Unova region Poke'mon. All other region Poke'mon are imported by plane. This land is fairly new with no legends or current origin. This new found and seemingly empty territory became the new world for Poke'mon lovers of all categories to voyage.
Poke'mon Prep is a string of campuses that litter the valleys, mountains, and coasts of this new world. Every day young, new, and adventurous trainers come it is Academy seeking knowledge in an unknown landscape.
As stated in the Rules, students earn their Pokémon. If it is not a Gen One, Two, or Five, the Poke'mon MUST be imported and bought with school tuition/funds. If it is a Gen One, Two, or Five, then the student's first semester of that year will be spent solely on exploring the land around campus, seeking their chosen Poke'mon to capture. This is usually how the autumn season is spent for all students, excluding freshmen. Students are not allowed to travel alone.
Freshmen are able to choose their own starter at Registration during their first year. While other grades are exploring the land, importing from companies, and roaming the trade center for their next Poke'mon, freshman are in the 'basic survival;' class so they have the qualifications to explore during their next year if they so chose.
Poke'mon must go under an exam by college staff to ensure that the creature is safe for campus grounds and student activity. The Poke'mon will be tested for disease and socially active to test for aggression. At the Avoca region, many resources found in desert and tropical areas are lacking, thus certain Poke'mon prey upon others for sustenance rather than consuming plants. It is not uncommon to see a pidgeotto swoop down and swipe up an unsuspecting Rattata.
Currently in the Rp: The school year is just beginning, and many students are seeking their next poke'mon while freshman head to the registration office to pick out their starter. Prices for Poke'mon bought by companies and imported is fairly high this year, and the trading center is booming because of it. Also, new generations have been added to the mountains and forests. The weather is chilly with rain on and off throughout the days with freak storms in the afternoons. Students may return to campus and bunk in their dorms while seeking for poke'mon in the wild. Dress warmly.
